7-Ingredient Simple Marinara Dip (GF, V)
This Simple Marinara Dip uses 7 staple ingredients and is SO flavorful! Honestly, the PERFECT dip for mozzarella sticks, pizza bites, and so much more! Gluten-free and vegetarian (+ can be made dairy-free and vegan!)
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 (28 oz) can Italian tomatoes , crushed
- ⅛ tsp sugar (optional)
- 8-10 leaves fresh basil , chopped
- fresh parmesan , grated (omit if DF/VG)
- salt and pepper , to taste
In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the tomato paste and garlic powder, then stir for 2 minutes.
Add in the Italian tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar and chopped basil. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Turn the heat to low, then simmer for 30 minutes, or until the marinara sauce has thickened.
Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed.
Pour the dip mixture into a serving bowl, then sprinkle with grated parmesan.
Serve immediately, or keep the dip covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
