Instructions
In a large
saucepan
, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the tomato paste and garlic powder, then stir for 2 minutes.
Add in the Italian tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar and chopped basil. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Turn the heat to low, then simmer for 30 minutes, or until the marinara sauce has thickened.
Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed.
Pour the dip mixture into a
serving bowl
, then sprinkle with grated parmesan.
Serve immediately, or keep the dip covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
