In this easy Famous Dave's Bread Pudding copycat recipe, we'll recreate everything that makes this dessert such a crowd-pleaser. This homemade, melt-in-your-mouth bread pudding is unlike any other you've ever had. Deliciously sweet, soft, and decadent.
Preheat your oven to 350 F (175 C). Lightly grease an 8 inch square baking pan with butter (or oil), then add in the bread pieces. Drizzle melted butter over the bread and mix in the raisins.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, half-and-half, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until combined. Pour over the bread mixture (you may need to use a fork to push the mixture down so the bread is covered in the liquid).
Bake for 40-45 minutes. The top of the bread pudding should spring back when you tap it lightly.
Remove the bread pudding from the oven, then let cool for 5 minutes. When ready to eat spoon a portion of the bread pudding into a bowl, then drizzle with warm pecan praline sauce (recipe below). Add a scoop of ice cream on top and a generous dollop of whipped cream on the side, just like the original Famous Dave's Bread Pudding. ENJOY!
Make The Praline Sauce
In a heavy saucepan, add the unsalted butter, heavy cream, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Mix in the chopped pecans and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sugar dissolves and the pecan praline sauce thickens. Remove from heat, then pour over the bread pudding.
