This yummy, savory dish is perfect for Disney and creole food lovers alike. My copycat Disneyland gumbo recipe tastes just like the original, but you can make it your way at home. Tasting it will make you feel like you’re deep in the bayou.
In a large stockpot, melt the butter on medium-low heat. Once melted, sift in the flour to make the roux, stirring constantly for about 30 minutes. You'll know the roux is done when it has a dough-like consistency and has turned brown (but not burnt!). Turn off heat and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil on medium-high heat. Cook the andouille sausage slices until nice and browned on both sides. Transfer the sausages to a plate.
Add in 1/2 of the broth into the stockpot with the roux and mix well. Then add in the remaining broth, celery, bell peppers, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and cajun seasoning.
Bring the gumbo mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook for approximately 6-8 minutes. Add in the cookedandouille sausages, Tasso Ham, shredded chicken.
Serve the copycat Disneyland gumbo over cooked dirty rice. ENJOY!
