If you've ever wished you had Grandma's old fashioned sweet potato pie recipe, this is as close as you'll get to remaking her classic comfort dessert. This pie is easy to make and it can be prepared in advance, which makes it perfect for holidays or other events with large groups of people.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll the unbaked into a greased 9-inch pie dish. Set aside.
Into the bowl of astand mixer, add the mashed sweet potato and butter and beat on medium speed until fluffy.
Add in the sugar, evaporated milk, flour, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla extract. Continue to beat on medium speed until mixture is well-combined and smooth.
Pour the sweet potato pie filling into the unbaked pie crust, then bake for 1 hour until the center is set, or until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean.
Allow the pie to cool, then cut into 10 slices. When ready to serve, add a dollop of whipped creamand ENJOY!
