How to Clean Chicken of the Woods

To clean chicken of the woods, first cut off the stem (the dense, fibrous part) and discard it.

Using a towel or brush, wipe away any dirt on the mushroom and dampen the towel slightly if needed. Once cleaned, use a sharp knife to slice the mushroom into thin pieces.

How to Make Chicken of the Woods

  1. In a large saute pan, heat the butter or olive oil on medium-high heat. Once hot, saute the garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
