How can I satisfy my sweet tooth without sugar?

If you have a major sweet tooth but are trying to eat less sugar, the good news is: you don’t have to give up desserts or snacks! In fact, there are a few ways to satisfy your sweet tooth without sugar.

One option is to eat naturally sweet foods, like fresh fruit. Keep in mind that fruits and ingredients like maple syrup have natural sugars, so if you’re trying to avoid all kinds of sugar, you’ll still want to keep these in moderation.

Another option is to make or buy snacks that use sugar-free sweeteners, otherwise known as sugar substitutes.

Not sure where to start? Keep reading because we’ll share our favorite sugar-free snacks and the best low sugar snacks for you to try this year!

Top 15 Best Sugar Free Snacks & Low Sugar Options

Best Sugar-Free Cookies: Raize Bakery Style Cookies

When I first tried Raize Bakery cookies, I honestly could not believe they were sugar-free and actually made with wholesome ingredients.

But here’s the thing: these fresh-baked, sugar free cookies actually taste amazing!

I’m quite the cookie connoisseur, and in my search for true bakery-style cookies, none has come closer to the “real thing” (ahem, the ones chock-full of sugar) like Raize cookies in terms of texture, taste, and overall feel. This is huge, you guys!!

Raize offers 2 styles of cookies: regular cookies and cookie sandwiches. I’ve tried both, and I personally love the regular cookies, while my husband is a huge fan of their cookie sandwiches.

As far as macros and nutrition labels go, Raize cookies have no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives (they actually come fresh-baked).

They’re also low carb, gluten-free, non-GMO, keto-friendly, and certified kosher!

Right now, the cookie flavors are still somewhat limited to just 6 different flavors, but as a hardcore chocolate chip cookie kinda gal, the options were all I need. You can check out the different flavors HERE.

These cookies honestly are my favorite sugar free cookies and one of the best sugar free snacks I’ve tried to date! Plus, the packaging is really cute and super giftable too.

Best Sugar-Free Chocolate Bars: Nebula Snacks Oat Milk Chocolate

Nebula Snacks launched its Oat Milk Chocolate Bars in 2021, and I found out about them just a few weeks ago!

Since trying both their oat milk chocolate and dark chocolate bars, I’ve been obsessed with their oat milk chocolates.. and for good reasons. Nebula Snacks has become one of the best sugar-free chocolate bars on the market!

I especially love their oat milk chocolates because they are made with real, all-natural ingredients and still have the “melt in your mouth” feel after the initial “snap”.

Each bar comes with absolutely zero sugar. Instead, they use allulose and monk fruit to make their proprietary sweetener blend, both of which are natural sweeteners that do not spike blood sugar levels.

Aside from being sugar-free, Nebula Snacks chocolates are also low-carb, soy-free, grain-free, and gluten-free. The oat milk chocolate is also dairy-free, so it’s great for those with dairy allergies or sensitivities.

These sugar free chocolate bars are vegan-friendly, non-GMO, and the packaging is made of 100% recycled materials.

Best Low Sugar Peanut Butter Cups: Miiro

Miiro specializes in vegan-friendly, low-sugar alternatives for what’s otherwise sugar-laden baking ingredients, like chocolates and syrups.

In fact, they’re most known for their vegan, low-sugar white chocolate – which by the way, tastes amazing especially when baked in cookies and are super melty.

That said, Miiro also sells low-sugar peanut butter cups, and they are my all-time favorite!

I find the flavor is very close to Reese’s peanut butter cups, which are incredibly high in sugar. Miiro’s PB cups, on the other hand, contain just 3g sugar for the ENTIRE bag!

So if you’re looking for a better-for-you alternative to the sugary peanut butter cups, my top alternative would be Miiro’s PB cups.

Plus, they don’t use any palm oil in their low sugar sweets, is keto-friendly, and plant-based.

Best Sugar-Free Recreational Drink: Psychedelic Water

Psychedelic Water is the first mood-boosting, non-alcoholic herbal supplement drink.

It’s made with natural ingredients, like kava root, damiana leaf, green tea leaf extract, and a blend of functional mushrooms like lion’s mane, chaga, and cordyceps – all of which are shown to improve cell function.

It also happens to use erythritol and monk fruit concentrate to sweeten the drink, you won’t find sugars here!

  • Hibiscus + Lime Flavor (our favorite!)
  • Blackberry + Yuzu Flavor
  • Oolong + Orange Blossom Flavor
  • Prickly Pear Flavor
