Let’s start!

Protein Bars: The Basics

The term “protein bar” generally describes pre-packaged, ready-to-eat snack bars that are high in protein.

Sometimes, protein bars can be referred to as nutrition bars or energy bars, though protein bars typically have much more protein content. Some of the most common protein sources in high protein bars come from protein powder, brown rice protein, pea protein, whey (milk protein), or a protein blend of different sources.

Protein bars can be eaten as a snack, meal addition, or even meal replacement.

There are also various kinds of protein bars, including keto, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan (no animal products), paleo, low-carb, nut-free, and more.

Not to mention, the endless flavor options ranging from sweet, savory, and even spicy.

In this article, we’ll be specifically covering the best gluten-free protein bars on the market.

What is Gluten-Free?

Simply put, a glutenfree diet avoids gluten, which is a protein found in many grains, such as wheat, barley, and rye.

Typically, people with celiac disease follow a gluten-free diet, as eating gluten will trigger an immune reaction.

These days, many non-celiac people are also adopting a gluten-free lifestyle.

What to Look For When Buying Gluten-Free Protein Bars

When choosing protein bars to buy, it’s important to pay attention to the ingredients and nutritional content. And let’s be real: there are so many different brands of protein snack bars these days, it can be hard to know which ones are the best fit for you.
