What is the difference between a juicer and citrus juicer?

A juicer is a kitchen appliance that is designed to extract juice from various types of fruits and vegetables, including hard and soft produce like carrots, beets, and apples. It works by crushing and grinding the fruits and vegetables to separate the juice from the pulp, which is then collected in a container while the pulp is discarded.

On the other hand, a citrus juicer is specifically designed to extract juice from citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, and grapefruits. Unlike a juicer, a citrus juicer does not have a shredding or grinding mechanism. Instead, it typically has a reamer or cone-shaped press that extracts juice by squeezing the fruit against the reamer or cone.

Factors to Consider for the Best Electric Orange Juicers

When choosing an electric orange juicer, it’s essential to consider specific features and factors that will help you find the best juicer for your needs. In this buying guide, we’ll discuss the crucial aspects you should look for before making a purchase.

Size and Capacity

Depending on your needs and kitchen space, the size and capacity of the juicer are important factors to consider.

If you plan on juicing large quantities of oranges regularly, choose a juicer with a larger capacity. On the other hand, if space is limited or you’ll only use the juicer occasionally, a smaller and more compact option may be better for you.

Power and Speed

Did you know? The power of the juicer’s motor and its speed affect the efficiency and convenience of the juicing process.

Higher wattage usually correlates with faster juicing, so if you have a busier lifestyle or are just often on the go, the best electric orange juicer will be those with enough power for quick juicing.

Easy Cleaning

A great electric orange juicer should be easy to clean and maintain.

Removable, dishwasher-safe components make the cleaning process more manageable, while BPA-free materials ensure you’re getting a better-for-you product.

Noise Level

No one wants a noisy appliance in their kitchen. Check for reviews on the juicer’s noise level or look for products with noise-reduction features to ensure a quieter operation.

Additional Features

There are various other features you may want to consider when choosing the best electric orange juicer for your needs.

For example, extra features like a pulp control system may be an important factor for your needs. We personally have one with this feature because I love my orange juice with lots of pulp and my husband likes his pulp-free!

Finally, consider your budget and look for a juicer that offers the best value for your money.

Keep in mind that a higher-priced product may come with additional features or improved durability, but there are also affordable options that perform well without breaking the bank.

Best Electric Orange Juicers

Here are our top 23 picks for the best electric orange juicers in the market.

Eurolux ELCJ-1600 Electric Citrus Juicer

One of the best orange juicers that are priced very reasonably is the Eurolux ELCJ-1600 Electric Citrus Juicer. It offers an efficient and quiet juicing experience with its one-size-fits-all cone and powerful motor for those seeking fresh citrus juice in no time.

From the moment I unboxed the Eurolux ELCJ-1600 Electric Citrus Juicer, I was impressed by its nice-to-the-touch stainless steel design and compact size. It easily fits on my kitchen counter without taking up too much space.

Plus, the soft grip rubber handle made it comfortable to use, and I didn’t have to apply much pressure to start the juicing process.

Eurolux’s one-size-fits-all juicing cone was a very nice surprise too. The cone could accommodate a variety of fruit shapes and sizes without requiring me to change the cone lid for each fruit. I was also happy with the integrated filter that captured seeds and residue for easy cleanup and a more pure orange juice.

On the downside, I found that the juicer required a minimal amount of pressure to start the motor, meaning I couldn’t multitask while using it.

Also, the lack of separate cone lids for different fruits might be an issue for some users, though it didn’t bother me too much as a casual juicer.

Vinci Hands-Free Electric Citrus Juicer

The Vinci Hands-Free Electric Citrus Juicer is another one of the best citrus juicers on Amazon. It makes juicing fresh and organic citrus fruits a breeze, perfect for anyone seeking an easy-to-use, efficient juicing solution.

When we tested the Vinci Hands-Free Electric Citrus Juicer, we loved its simple one-button operation. Gone are the days when we have to wrestle with a manual citrus squeezer or read a 50-page manual of a complex juicer – haha!

The juicer’s BPA-free Tritan plastic bowl holds up to 12 ounces, which I found to be enough juice for multiple drinks or recipes.

The fact that removable parts are top-rack dishwasher-safe makes cleaning so easy. So far, I’ve used Vinci for various citrus fruits, like lemons, limes, oranges, and even small grapefruits, without any issues. The two interchangeable pulp filters allow me to choose between low and high pulp levels so I can control how much pulp each juicing run lets through.

However, I did notice that the price might be higher than some other juicers on the market. It is also limited to 4.5-inch diameter fruits, so exceptionally large citrus fruits may not fit.

Lastly, for those with limited kitchen counter space, the Vinci Hands-Free Electric Citrus Juicer might not be the best option due to its size. Despite these cons, though, I highly recommend the Vinci Hands-Free Electric Citrus Juicer for its efficiency, convenience, and flexibility.

BLACK + DECKER Citrus Juicer, White, CJ625

For a more affordable model, the BLACK+DECKER Citrus Juicer is one of our top picks! It is a reliable and efficient kitchen appliance perfect for juicing oranges and other citrus fruits.

My experience with the BLACK+DECKER Citrus Juicer has been a fairly good one, especially for models in its budget range.

This juicer extracts a significant amount of juice from oranges, lemons, and limes with its two self-reversing cones. The small cone is perfect for smaller fruits, while the large cone is great for making grapefruit juice.

The adjustable pulp control allows choosing the desired amount of pulp, which is collected in a removable basket for easy disposal or use in recipes.

It also features a drip-free pour spout, which allows for mess-free pouring and doubles as a handle, making it easier to serve the juice.

The clear-view juice container makes it simple to measure juice quantities for recipes and see the remaining juice yield for each piece of citrus.

On the downside, the BLACK+DECKER Citrus Juicer is made from thin plastic, which might not be as durable as other materials.

Additionally, the juicer can be quite noisy during use.

Proctor Silex Juicit Electric Citrus Juicer

Proctor Silex Juicit Electric Citrus Juicer is another model ideal for easily and quickly juicing a variety of citrus fruits at an affordable price.

Having just used the Proctor Silex Juicit Electric Citrus Juicer, I found it perfect for making orange juice, lime juice, and more.

The two nesting reamers included in this juicer made it possible to juice different sizes of citrus, from small key limes to large grapefruits. Though if we’re being honest, the juicer did sometimes struggle with larger citrus in our experience.

The large 34 oz. pitcher provided ample juice storage, allowing me to serve a crowd without having to refill multiple times.

Moreover, I appreciated the easy-to-read measurement markings that facilitated the process of following juice recipes.

The dishwasher-safe parts, such as the pitcher, lid, reamers, and pulp control basket, made cleaning pretty easy, and the nested storage helped maintain my kitchen’s organization (a dream for type fanatical organizers like me).

Though the juicer worked efficiently, the noise level did require some getting used to. Additionally, the juicer uses plastic parts, which are not as durable as other materials.

Eurolux Die Cast Stainless Steel Electric Citrus Juicer

If you’re looking for a powerful and durable electric citrus juicer, the Eurolux Die Cast Stainless Steel Juicer is an excellent choice with its 300-watt motor and sturdy construction.

The Eurolux Die Cast Stainless Steel Electric Citrus Juicer outshines a lot of the other models we tested with its powerful 300-watt motor.

We especially like that it has a more premium quality die-cast construction and stainless steel body. This makes it more durable compared to plastic orange juicers.

One of the standout features of this juicer is the easy-to-use, one-handed juice-pressing arm with a soft grip, and non-slip handle. This design reduces hand pressure and minimizes effort, making it easier on the hand and wrist.

Suction cups on the base also prevent table surface marring and help create a more secure grip.

While the Eurolux juicer boasts many positives, some users have reported that the machine can become unstable when applying pressure and that the screw connecting the handle to the machine may loosen over time.

Additionally, the hood is not detachable, which could make cleaning slightly more challenging. Despite these drawbacks, though, we still think the Eurolux Die Cast Stainless Steel Electric Citrus Juicer is a high-performance and durable option that you shouldn’t overlook.

This powerful juicer has a sleek design and a patented juicing cone for maximum juice extraction to get the last drop of juice out of every orange.

Bonus: Chef’n FreshForce Citrus Juicer

If you’re looking for a compact manual citrus juicer, the Chef’n FreshForce Citrus Juicer is one of the best handheld citrus juicers that barely takes up any space!

It has a unique gear mechanism that makes juicing easier and more efficient, but we only recommend this for smaller citrus like lemons, limes, and oranges. It will not work with grapefruits.

What is the best orange juice extractor? What kind of juicer is best for citrus?

When buying electric or manual orange juicers, you should consider how much time you have to spend juicing and how often you will use the juicer.

If you plan on using the juicer frequently, I recommend going for one of the electric models as they offer a faster, more efficient way to make fresh juice. Plus, electric citrus juicers often extract more juice compared to their manual counterparts.

Which electric citrus juicer is best?

Some of the best electric citrus juicers include Breville Citrus Press Pro, Omega Citrus Juicer, and the Cuisinart CCJ-500 Pulp Control Citrus Juicer. Consider factors such as ease of use, price range, size and customer reviews when selecting an electric citrus juicer that fits your needs.

Should I get a manual or electric orange juicer?

That really depends on your preference and budget. Electric juicers tend to be more powerful and efficient, but they are more expensive, can take up more space, and require more cleaning.

Manual juicers are usually cheaper, more compact (though not always), and easier to clean, but they can take longer and may not be as effective in extracting as much juice as an electric juicer.

Which one of these options do you think is the best electric orange juicer? Are there other ones we should include in this guide? Please leave a comment below – I’d love to hear!!
